All operating systems have hidden files and folders, to prevent inexperienced users from damaging something. If you know what you are doing and you need to find those hidden items on your Mac, then you should try Houdini. It gives you the possibility of revealing and accessing hidden files and folders. Additionally, the application lets you create new hidden items or hide existing files or folders.

Houdini comes with a compact user interface, on which you can find all the controls you need to work with hidden items. The application presents two main options, for toggling file visibility and for browsing hidden files. These options allow you to open a hidden folder in Finder, by simply selecting it on a standard Open dialog and to make them visible at all times.

Besides the aforementioned options, the application provides other useful controls, which can be found in the lower region of the interface. Options which affect files or folders are organized on separate tabs. You can use them to view specific files or folders that are hidden, reveal them, move or delete them. It is also possible to create new hidden folders or to hide visible files. The best part is that all options are easy to spot and easy to understand and that their effects are instantaneous.

Any operation you wish to make with hidden files or folders can be made easily and efficiently with Houdini.

Pros

You can reveal hidden files and folders on your Mac. The application's controls are neatly sorted and easy to master. Houdini is offered free of charge and you can have it up and running in no time.

Cons

There are no serious issues to mention.
